Care Designed for Athletes

For Athletes and Families

Sports injuries can be frustrating and disruptive, whether they happen during a big game, a training session, or a casual weekend activity.

Dr. Michael Nickoli understands the impact an injury has not only on performance but also on confidence, routine, and long-term health.

His approach is shaped by years of experience working with athletes at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels. That perspective guides how he evaluates injuries, discusses treatment options, and creates recovery plans that prioritize both short-term return to play and long-term joint health.

Supporting Young Athletes

Parents often face difficult questions when their child is injured. Is it safe to keep playing? Does this injury require surgery? How will recovery affect school or sports participation?

Dr. Nickoli works closely with families to answer these questions and provide clarity. His care is tailored to young athletes with the goal of getting them back on the field safely while protecting their future health.

Active Adults and Weekend Athletes

Not every athlete wears a uniform. Many injuries happen during recreational leagues, fitness training, or simply staying active.

Whether it is a shoulder dislocation from a softball game or a knee injury during a long run, Dr. Nickoli provides the same level of expertise and attention that he brings to elite athletes.

A Partnership in Recovery

Successful recovery is built on teamwork.

Dr. Nickoli takes time to listen to each patient, explain treatment options clearly, and involve families in decision-making. From the first evaluation through rehabilitation, his goal is to make patients and families feel informed, supported, and confident in the path forward. He will coordinate care with the patient's therapist and other providers.

Dr. Nickoli utilizes a wide range of nonoperative treatments such as bracing and physical therapy. He also offers advanced injection and biologic treatment including platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections. These injections utilize your own body’s healing potential options to improve pain and function.

Not all injuries require surgical treatment.
